Microsoft 365 Consulting

Turn a collection of Microsoft tools into a connected environment with a clear direction, accountable ownership and a realistic delivery plan.

The engagement

Start with the operating problem. Not another tool.

A Microsoft 365 consulting engagement should answer a business question: what needs to work differently, and what is the smallest responsible way to get there? W.I.S.E. brings strategy and hands-on solution engineering together, so the roadmap is connected to the work required to implement and sustain it.

When this is the right starting point

You already have SharePoint sites, Teams, forms, spreadsheets and approvals, but the connections between them depend on workarounds. Different departments may be solving the same problem separately. Leaders need a direction before approving another application.

This service is a fit when the problem crosses platform boundaries, when a growing backlog lacks priorities, or when a proposed solution needs an architecture review before development. A focused assessment can also help decide whether an existing system should be improved rather than replaced.

What the engagement can include

Discovery maps the people, information, permissions, handoffs and decisions behind a process. The review separates immediate reliability issues from structural concerns such as ownership, information architecture, integration and lifecycle.

The resulting scope can include a current-state assessment, an agreed future-state design, a prioritized improvement backlog and a delivery roadmap. Recommendations identify assumptions and dependencies instead of hiding them inside an attractive diagram.

How decisions become delivery

A useful roadmap states what will change, who approves it, how success will be checked and what must be in place first. W.I.S.E. can carry a defined workstream into SharePoint development, Power Platform applications or workflow automation, rather than handing off a strategy that is disconnected from implementation.

The first production scope should be small enough to validate with real users. Later phases can reuse the pattern once ownership, access, support and reporting have been tested.

What to bring to discovery

Bring one process that repeatedly causes friction, an explanation of who uses it, the tools involved and the decision you need to make. Existing diagrams and requirements are useful but not a prerequisite. A sanitized example of the current workflow is often more useful than a long wish list.

Scope depends on environment access, policies, licensing, integrations and the people available to make decisions. The initial conversation is used to identify these constraints; no fixed timeline or platform choice is assumed.

Potential deliverables

The final scope is agreed before delivery. Depending on the engagement, it can include:

  • Current-state findings and risk priorities
  • Future-state architecture and decision records
  • Sequenced implementation backlog
  • Ownership, testing and sustainment considerations

Common questions

Do we need to know which Microsoft product to use?

No. The starting point can be the process, the information or the operating problem. Product selection follows the requirements and environment constraints.

Can W.I.S.E. work with our internal IT team or MSP?

The engagement can be scoped around your existing owners and providers. Responsibilities, access and escalation paths should be agreed before implementation.

Is consulting separate from development?

It can be. A focused assessment may stand alone, or a defined implementation phase can follow once scope and acceptance criteria are clear.

Before you scope the work

Microsoft 365 consulting or managed services: which do you need?

A practical way to distinguish a project that changes the environment from a service that keeps an agreed part of it running.
