Power Platform Consulting

Connect applications, automation and reporting around a sound data model and an operating plan that lasts beyond the first release.

The engagement

Design the whole solution, not just the first screen.

Power Platform consulting sits between a business requirement and a production-ready solution. W.I.S.E. helps define how Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint-backed data, reporting and platform controls should fit together before development becomes a series of disconnected experiments.

Choose a solution shape before choosing components

The first questions concern users, decisions, records, permissions and exception paths. An attractive application is not enough when the underlying process has no agreed owner or when reporting requires information that the system never captures.

Discovery translates the operating problem into a data model, user journeys, workflow boundaries and reporting requirements. It also identifies which parts can use the existing environment and which need additional capability or approval.

Evaluate the data and access model

A simple departmental tracker and a relationship-heavy business application are different design problems. SharePoint and Dataverse should be evaluated against the specific data relationships, access requirements, volume, query patterns and lifecycle needs.

Licensing and environment constraints need to be checked before architecture is committed. W.I.S.E. does not assume that every Microsoft 365 tenant includes every feature a proposed solution may require.

Connect the build to governance

The scope can define who may change an application, how flows and connections are owned, where development and testing happen and how a release is accepted. These choices make it easier to support the solution when its original builder is unavailable.

Reporting should be designed from the same status definitions and source records used by operators. This avoids treating the executive dashboard as a separate manual consolidation exercise.

Use a focused implementation to prove the pattern

A first release can concentrate on one process with a small number of roles and a clear acceptance test. Validate the data, access, automation and reporting together before expanding to adjacent departments.

W.I.S.E. can provide an architecture review, a development-ready design or a scoped implementation. Existing apps can also be assessed for reliability, maintainability and opportunities to reuse a common pattern.

Potential deliverables

The final scope is agreed before delivery. Depending on the engagement, it can include:

  • Solution architecture and data model
  • Application, workflow and reporting boundaries
  • Environment and ownership decisions
  • Test strategy and prioritized implementation plan

Common questions

Can you review an application another team built?

Yes. A review can be scoped around data integrity, permissions, delegation, automation, deployment and the ability to maintain the application.

Is this only for large organizations?

No. The starting point can be a small-business process. Complexity and support needs, rather than organization size alone, should drive the design.

Can reporting be included?

Reporting requirements can be designed alongside the application and workflow. Specific dashboards, connectors and licensing are defined during scoping.

Before you scope the work

SharePoint or Dataverse for your business application?

Choose a data architecture around the process and its risks, not just the connector that is easiest to select.
